1.2 General Safety Information
WARNING!
When operating the PositionServo drive remotely with an output module, the motor may start unexpectedly,
which could result in damage to equipment and/or injury to personnel. Make sure the equipment is free to
operate in this manner, and that all guards and covers are in place to protect personnel.
These safety notes do not claim to be complete. In case of questions and problems please contact your
Lenze representative.
At the time of delivery, the drive system employs state of the art technology to ensure the basic safe
operation of the drive.
The indications given in these Operating Instructions refer to the stated hardware and software versions of
the controller.
The controller is hazardous if:
unqualified personnel work on and with the controller.
the controller is used inappropriately.
Use appropriate safety measures to ensure that neither personal injury nor damage to property may occur
in the event of failure of the drive system.
Do not operate the drive system when a fault occurs.
Retrofitting, modifications or redesigns are prohibited. Lenze must be contacted in all cases requiring
changes to the drive.
Install the E94ZAHBK2 Motor Brake Module as described in the installation manual P94ZHBKA01. Then make
connections as shown in the installation manual and as described in Section 3.
2 General Information
The E94ZAHBK2, Motor Brake Terminal Block & I/O Module, is designed to engage and release 24 VDC motor
holding brakes. This module uses an external 24 VDC supply to release the brake. Once Output 2 is energized,
24VDC is applied to the brake leads, the brake is released, the green LED is turned on and the motor shaft can
freely rotate.
2.1 How to use these Operating Instructions
These Operating Instructions are intended for safety-relevant operation on and with the E94ZAHBK2 Mo-
tor Brake and Terminal Block I/O option module. Observe the safety information contained herein.
All personnel working on and with the module must have these Operating Instructions available and
observe the information and notes relevant for them.
These instructions are only valid when used in conjunction with the Operating Instructions of the corre
-
sponding controller. Keep both sets of instructions complete and available to operating personnel.
